The CCTV footage of the event, in which the suspect can be seen beating the mother-son combo, went viral on social media.
The victim, Shobha Kumari, stated that she and her son were returning from her son's tuition center when a semi-naked man attacked her son's neck, face, and hand from behind, and when she tried to rescue him from the attacker, he attacked her as well with a sharp-edged object and fled the scene.
Police arrived on the scene and brought the patients to the main hospital, where they were discharged after receiving first assistance. The suspect was caught earlier on Monday after jumping inside the Air Force station, but it was later discovered that he was mentally unwell and was released to his relatives, according to police.
However, the suspect struck again on Tuesday, this time targeting a youngster and his mother.
"We are terrified as a result of the incident." How can we accomplish our jobs while abandoning our children? "Adequate action must be taken against such accused," the victim stated. However, authorities have yet to receive a report about the incident.
"The incident has been brought to our attention. We have increased security and placed a PCR in the area. "We're looking for the suspect," said Mangal Singh, Sub-Inspector of Sector-17/18 police station.
