Man smears Black paint over controversial Hanuman Ji mural
A viral video of a Hindu man smearing clack paint on the murals of Hindu Deity Hanuman ji in Salangpur came out today.
A tall statue of Hanuman Ji is located in the Salangpur in the Botad district of Saurashtra region in Gujarat. The statue is 54 feet tall. The statue was inaugurated by Home Minister Amit Shah on April this year.
The man who distorted the mural is identified with the name of Harshad Gadhvi from Charanki Village near Ranpur in Saurashtra.
He attacked the controversial murals of Hanuman ji at Salangpur, armed with a stick and black paint color, which he applied over the contentious murals.
The police swiftly apprehended him with minimal effort.
Anger is simmering among a large number of Hindus across Gujarat and Sanatani sadhus due to the distortion of Hanuman ji in murals placed by the Vadtal branch of the Swaminarayan sect on the platform of the recently unveiled 'King of Salangpur' statue.
In response to the mounting tension, the mandir management has made the decision to place barricades to prevent more agitators from approaching the controversial murals.
Those murals have been in controversy since the inauguration of the tall statue. Some of those murals depict Lord Hanuman bowing down to Sant Sahajanand Swamy of Swaminarayan sect. Hindu community have been disappointed with the Swaminarayan sect as they have several times placed Sahajanand Swami above to Hindu Gods and Goddess.
