'Metro Mitra' Service Postponed by a Week Due to Union Dispute
The launch of the highly anticipated 'Metro Mitra' app, designed to provide meter-based last-mile connectivity to metro passengers across the state, has been postponed by one week due to internal union conflicts. While the Beta version of the app was introduced at the Jayanagar metro station on Wednesday, operational commencement, initially slated for Thursday, has been delayed.
Approximately 40 drivers have already registered for 'Metro Mitra,' with plans to recruit more professional drivers. Passengers will be able to scan QR codes to secure rides, with fares adhering to government-prescribed meter rates, plus an additional ₹10 fee for app maintenance.
The resolution ensures that only committed, professional drivers will join the initiative, with an emphasis on driver education before onboarding. Despite the delay, the outlook remains positive for increased participation and an enhanced transportation experience for metro passengers."
