Who is Sergio Gor:  US President Donald Trump made a big announcement on Friday. He said that Sergio Gor will be the next US ambassador to India. He will take charge of the deteriorating relations between India and America, which have become more tense after the decision to double the US tariff on goods coming from India next week. Gor has also been given the responsibility of Special Envoy for South and Central Asian Affairs.

He is considered one of the most influential people working behind the scenes in Trump's team. Also, he played a big role in raising election funds and maintained deep relations with Trump's supporting donors and allies

Trump made this announcement on his social media platform Truth Social. He credited Gore for playing a key role in appointing thousands of political positions in the government and said Gore's work has been extremely important in implementing the administration's goals.

Trump called him a 'great friend'

Trump wrote, 'Sergio is my best friend, who has been with me for many years. He worked on my historic election campaign, published my bestselling books and ran one of the largest super PACs supporting our movement. He made a significant contribution in choosing the staff for my second term.'

Old rivalry with Elon Musk

Gore also played a important role in the confrontation between Trump and Elon Musk. According to reports, Musk and Gore had been having differences for months, after which Musk resigned from the Trump administration in May.

According to several reports, there was an argument between Musk and other officials during a heated cabinet meeting in March. Gore's name did not come out publicly, but it was said inside that he was against Musk's influence on staffing.

Musk called him snake on social media

The tension increased further when Gore played a role in blocking Jared Isaacman's nomination as NASA chief. This nomination was done with Musk's support, but Trump canceled it. Later Trump admitted that Musk was angry with this decision. After this, Musk attacked Gore on social media platform X by calling him a 'snake' and shared the report of the New York Post, which claimed that Gore himself had not completed his security clearance properly.

Most powerful people in Trump's team

This incident proved to be a turning point in the relationship between Musk and Trump and after this the distance between the two kept increasing. According to the report of Axios, Gore did not want Musk to be involved in these decisions and perhaps he also influenced Trump in this direction.

Gore has also been involved in the vetting of appointments in the White House and has often made political loyalty to Trump a condition for appointments. He is considered one of the most powerful figures behind the scenes in Trump's team.

Who is Sergio Gor?

Sergio has been involved in Trump's political activities since 2020. He has played an important role in raising election funds and political action committees (PACs) supporting Trump. Sergio Gor is currently leading the White House's Presidential Office and will remain in this position until his ambassadorial appointment is confirmed.

Sergio Gor was born in Tashkent, which was then part of the Uzbek Soviet Socialist Republic of the Soviet Union. In 1999, he came to America with his family. After coming to America, he studied at George Washington University in Washington DC. During his studies, he got involved in conservative politics and was active with the College Republicans. He also started a chapter of the Young America Foundation on campus.

After studying, Gore entered Republican politics and later worked with Senator Rand Paul from Kentucky. Over time, he built strong relationships with many people in Donald Trump's close network, including Trump's son Donald Trump Jr. Gore and Trump Jr. later started a publishing company together. In 2024, Gore led a pro-Trump super PAC, which received major financial support from Mar-a-Lago member and former Marvel executive Isaac Perlmutter.
