Nagrik Devo Bhava… PM Modi inaugurates Seva Tirtha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today, Friday (February 13), unveiled the name of the new Prime Minister's Office (PMO) building complex, 'Seva Tirtha'. PM Modi will move into the new PMO today. This means the address of the Prime Minister's Office will be permanently changed. PM Modi's office will now be located in Seva Tirtha, along with the offices of several other ministries.

This is part of the Central Vista project, which will bring various ministries under one roof.

The PM has named the complex housing the PMO, NSCS, and Cabinet Secretariat as Seva Teerth. Since 2014, the Modi government has taken consistent steps to move away from the trappings of India's past and reimagine its mindset. Some of the major changes are as follows: The Seva Teerth complex consists of three buildings.

PM Modi to address at 6 PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate Seva Teerth along with Kartavya Bhawan-1 and 2 at around 6 PM today. This will be followed by his address. Before moving to Seva Teerth, PM Modi will hold a special meeting of the Union Cabinet in South Block. This will be the Modi Cabinet's last meeting in South Block. After this, all meetings will be held in the new office.

These locations have been renamed

• South Block → Seva Tirtha

• Central Secretariat → Kartavya Bhavan

• Rajpath → Kartavya Path

• Race Course Road → Lok Kalyan Marg

• Raj Bhavan/Raj Niwas → Lok Bhavan/Lok Niwas

Central government under one roof

Seva Tirtha was developed as part of the Central Vista Project. This modern complex, spanning 2.26 lakh square feet, is located on Dara Shikoh Road. It was built at a cost of approximately ₹1,189 crore.

Summary

Previously separate offices will now be housed under a single umbrella. Equipped with smart office facilities, this center simplifies administrative work with high-speed internet, a paperless work culture, digital archives, and state-of-the-art conference rooms.
