The former Prime Ministers of Pakistan never leave their chances to be in public eye despite being accused of different charges in different cases. So is the case with Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who has decided to be back in the country for elections.

The founder of Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz, and the former PM was living in exile for more than 3 years in London. Nawaz Sharif exercised a self-imposed exile in London starting from 2019. His younger brother, also a former Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave the information of this elder brother returning to Pakistan from London on October 21 for the upcoming elections.

The 73 year old party president would be given a grand welcome upon landing in Pakistan.

The former PM Nawaz was convicted in corruption cases. He was found guilty in the cases of Al-Azizia Mills and Avenfield corruption cases.  He served in the Kot Lakhpat Jail of Lahore for 7 years. He served in Kot Lakhpat Jail before he was allowed to go to London citing medical grounds.

The younger brother Shehbaz Sharif earlier said that his brother will return to the homeland and face the law of the land. He also mentioned his plans to go meet his elder brother after the caretaker government took charge.

The country is already in a state of crisis with elections looming over the country. The elections are supposed to be conducted within 90 days of the dissolution of assembly. According to this, the last date is November 9.  The election commission of Pakistan needs time for delimitation of constituencies, due to which election are highly expected to get postposed.
