New Rules From October 1 Set To Impact Your Life:  At the beginning of the month, certain rules related to your wallet are bound to change. This is usually the case on the first of every month. This time, September is about to end. On October 1st, rules related to railway tickets, pensions, UPI, and gas cylinders will change. Let us tell you about five things that will change from October 1st. The first of every month is crucial for financial health, as some rules affecting the lives of the common man change on this day.

This time, some rules are certain to change, while others are expected to improve.

Revision in LPG Cylinder Prices

October is a festive month. In such a situation, people are hoping for a reduction in the price of LPG gas cylinders. Companies have reduced the price of 19-kilogram LPG cylinders in recent months. This time, the price of 14-kilogram cylinders has been reduced.

Ticketing Rules

To prevent ticket fraud, the Railways has changed the ticket booking rules. These will come into effect from October 1, 2025. According to this, only those whose Aadhaar card is linked to IRCTC will be able to book tickets within 15 minutes of the ticket counter opening. Currently, this rule will only apply to Tatkal ticket bookings.

UPI Changes

From October 1, some major rules of UPI (Unified Payments Interface) will change. The new rules made by NPCI will affect apps like PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm. The most significant change is that the P2P transaction feature may be removed.

This step has been taken to increase user security and prevent online fraud. This means that from October 1, 2025, you will no longer be able to use the option to send money directly to each other on UPI apps.

Pension-Related Changes

From October 1, 2025, major changes are also underway in the NPS National Pension System. Now, non-government subscribers will be able to invest their entire pension amount (100%) in equity-related schemes. Previously, this limit was only 75%. Furthermore, private sector employees will also now have to pay a fee for opening a PRAN.

Annual maintenance charge ₹100 per account

For Atal Pension Yojana (APY) and NPS Lite subscribers, the PRAN opening and maintenance charges will be only ₹15. Fortunately, there will be no transaction fees.
