NIDJAM 2024: Anant Kumar secures Silver Medal despite Interest Money Speculations

In a remarkable display of determination and skill, Anant Kumar from Gaya district, Bihar, has made headlines by clinching a silver medal at NIDJAM 2024. The event, hosted at Gujarat University grounds in Ahmedabad, witnessed the participation of more than 5500 players from 616 districts.

This year, Gujarat took the initiative to organize NIDJAM 2024, attracting athletes from across the nation. Among the participants was Anant Kumar, representing Bihar, who not only took part in the triathlon game but also emerged victorious with a silver medal.

Despite facing challenges such as the absence of sports grounds in his district, Anant Kumar, along with a group of 10-12 fellow sportspersons, showcased resilience by creating their own practice grounds. The collective hard work, coupled with guidance from coaches involved in the sport since 2016, contributed to Anant Kumar's success in the triathlon game.

Financial Hurdles Overcome with Determination

Financial constraints did not deter Anant Kumar from Bihar to participate in NIDJAM 2024. Encouraged by his coach Pradeep Kumar, Anant's father, a farmer, took interest money to fund his son's journey from Bihar to Gujarat. This dedication and enthusiasm played a pivotal role in Anant Kumar's triumphant silver medal win.

Anant Kumar's success at NIDJAM 2024 marks his second medal this year. Prior to his silver medal achievement, he secured a bronze medal by actively participating in the U-14 School Games National.
