NIDJAM 2024 : Gujarat's Victorious Day, excitement peaks for Sunday's Finals
The 19th National Inter District Junior Athletics Meet (NIDJAM) 2024 at Gujarat University Ground, Ahmedabad, witnessed a surge of excitement on its second day, marking a triumphant day for girls and boys players.

After the preliminary round on February 16, the qualifier and semi-final rounds unfolded on Saturday, February 17, culminating in the final round for triathlon groups A and B.

Gujarat's Victory in Triathlon Group-B Under 14
In a dazzling display of talent, the girls of Gujarat took center stage, particularly in the Triathlon Group-B Under 14 category.
Kinjal Thakor, hailing from Gujarat, secured the first position with an impressive 2,520 points. The dedicated athlete, daughter of a farmer, achieved this remarkable feat after seven months of rigorous training at the Nadiad Sports Academy.
Surat's Honey Chaudhary clinched the third position with 2,359 points in the same category.
While Kavya Aggarwal from Ahmedabad secured the third position with 2,064 points in the Under 14 Girls Triathlon category. The outstanding performances were duly honored with gold and bronze medals for the daughters of Gujarat.
Anticipation Builds for Finals in Various Athletics Categories
As the NIDJAM progresses, the spotlight now turns to the third day, Sunday, February 18, where the final round for various athletics categories will unfold at the University Ground. Over 5,500 players from 31 states and union territories of India showcased their skills, and the hard work of those selected for the finals promises to shine through in the medal ceremony. The semi-final rounds witnessed intense competition, with 36 players earning their spots in the finals for categories like running and javelin throw in the girls' category.
Gujarat Players Set to Shine Nationally
Among the women athletes participating in NIDJAM from across the country, notable names from Gujarat, including Gohil Sandhya Ramsingh and Vala Roshanba, reached the finals in the Under 16 600m running and Under 16 60m running categories, respectively. Kavya Aggarwal secured a spot in the finals for Under 14 javelin throw.
These players, upon selection, will proudly represent Gujarat among athletes from other states at the national level. The anticipation for their performances adds an extra layer of excitement to the upcoming events.
