Odisha News: Two arrested for stone pelting on Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat Express
On Tuesday, the Railway Protection Force (RPF) arrested two individuals for their alleged involvement in pelting stones at the Rourkela-Puri Vande Bharat Express, according to officials.

The incident occurred on Sunday evening, resulting in damage to the windowpane of an executive chair car coach on the train. The stone-pelting incident transpired in the Angul-Dhenkanal Railway Section between Meramandali and Budhapank railway stations under the jurisdiction of the East Coast Railway (ECoR).
Taking the matter seriously, ECoR assigned the case to both the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and the Government Railway Police (GRP). Subsequently, these security agencies, in collaboration with local police, initiated a thorough investigation.
The RPF post at Talcher and the Crime Investigation Branch (CIB) of RPF at Khurda Road jointly launched the investigation on Tuesday evening. The authorities detained two individuals from an isolated location beside the train tracks at 5:30 PM.
Upon interrogation, the duo confessed to pelting stones at the Vande Bharat Express for amusement after consuming alcohol. Following their arrest, both accused have been forwarded to the JMFC court in Dhenkanal, as per officials.
