Senior Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Sunil Ambekar said on Wednesday that 'Operation Sindoor' launched by the Indian armed forces in Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22 was necessary to give a 'clear message' that India is a country of heroes like Chhatrapati Shivaji and Ahilyabai Holkar.

The head of the national media and publicity department of the RSS was speaking at a program organized on the occasion of the release of the book 'Lokmata, Devi Ahilyabai Holkar's life and heritage' at the Sahitya Akademi here.

Addressing the program, Ambekar said that India today is at a juncture where it is moving towards economic prosperity.

He said, "Trade is also very important for us. Maintaining peace and unity in the country is also very important. Similarly, 'Operation Sindoor' was also necessary after the Pahalgam terror attack.'

Ambekar said, "It is important to give a clear message that we have the legacy of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and brave women like Ahilyabai. You cannot come to our country and wipe off the vermilion from the forehead of women."

He said, "It is not allowed. This is the new India."
