Opposition move adjournment motion in Lok Sabha, demand immediate discussion on the SIR

Opposition Move Adjournment Motion In Lok Sabha:  Today is the second day of the ongoing winter session of Parliament. The SIR issue was clearly visible on the first day. Opposition uproar repeatedly disrupted proceedings in the Lok Sabha. In the Rajya Sabha, too, Zero Hour and Special Mention proceedings were held after the opposition walked out. Before the second day's proceedings began, the government was trying to find a middle ground, but now the opposition's stance has become harsh on the issue of the communication partner.

"SIR is an urgent matter, discussion should begin immediately," Kharge demanded

Mallikarjun Kharge said that the notice given under Rule 267 should include the names of the members who submitted the notice and the subject of the notice. This has been the tradition, and it also follows in the lower house. They don't read out the names of the members who submitted the notice, nor the subject itself. This is not good. To Kharge's remark, the Chairman said that if the House remains in order, everyone should be heard. When the House is not in order, how can the Chairman listen to anyone? Kharge replied that bringing the House to order is your job, the government's job, not the opposition's. The Leader of the Opposition demanded an immediate discussion on the SIR, saying that 12-13 people have lost their lives. This is an urgent matter and discussion should begin immediately.

Opposition Protest in Parliament Complex

Before the second day of the ongoing Winter Session of Parliament began, opposition members protested in the Parliament House Complex over the issue of SIR. Congress Parliamentary Party chief Sonia Gandhi, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi also joined the protest.

Vigorous Opposition Ruckus in the Rajya Sabha

Opposition members are creating a ruckus in the Rajya Sabha demanding a discussion on SIR. The proceedings of the Upper House are continuing amid loud sloganeering by opposition members, who are raising slogans demanding "Discuss SIR!"
