According to security inputs, Hashim Musa had taken training as a para commando in the Special Service Group of the Pakistani Army. After that, he joined Lashkar-e-Taiba and started carrying out terrorist activities. It is said that he entered India in September 2023 and again started his terrorist operations in South Kashmir.

Accused of killing 7 civilians in Ganderbal
On 22 April 2025, 26 people were killed in a bloody attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Security agencies had identified Hashim Musa as the main accused in this case.
