Patna City ranks highest in the of the most polluted cities in India
The air quality in many Indian states is deteriorating. The pollution level in the national capital has decreased after several parts of Delhi-NCR received light rain on Friday.
The rain, which provided welcome relief from the hazardous air that had been hovering over the national capital for two weeks, caused the Delhi government to delay the commencement of the odd-even car rationing scheme.
According to SAFAR data as of 8:30 am, Delhi's overall AQI is 201, falling into the "very poor" category. The temperature dropped a few degrees on Friday due to rain in some areas of Punjab and Haryana, and the AQI levels slightly improved. In terms of the polluted cities in India as of November 11, AQI data from aqi.in shows that Patna as the most polluted city, followed by Bali in West Bengal, with AQI readings of 409 and 530, respectively.
Whereas, another West Bengal city, Kamarhati, in the North 24 Parganas district, ranked third with an AQI of 405, while Bihar's Bhagalpur ranked fourth with an AQI of 389.
Other West Bengal cities ranking fifth, sixth, and seventh are Rishra in the Hoogly district, Panihati, and Titagarh in the North 24 Parganas, with AQI readings of 384, 376, and 374, respectively. Punjab lowered the temperature by a few degrees, while AQI levels improved slightly.
Shrirampur in Maharashtra's Ahmednagar district was ranked 8th with an AQI of 370. According to aqi. in data, West Bengal's Khardah had an AQI of 369, while Madhya Pradesh's Indore had an AQI of 353.

Gopal Rai, the environment minister for Delhi, wrote to the transport ministers of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana earlier on Friday, asking them to make sure that trucks transporting non-essential goods are routed via peripheral expressways to prevent traffic congestion at the capital's borders.
He asked for the diversion of all non-destined vehicles via the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways at the points of entry prior to the Delhi Border.
