PM China Visit: Committed to advancing our ties on mutual trust, respect: PM Modi's message to Xi

The Prime Minister Modi is in China to attend the SCO summit. Earlier, he met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin. PM Modi is on a visit to China after seven years and this is his second meeting with Jinping in the last ten months.

The Prime Minister Modi is in China to attend the SCO summit. Earlier, he met Chinese President Xi Jinping in Tianjin. PM Modi is on a visit to China after seven years and this is his second meeting with Jinping in the last ten months.

PM China Visit: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met President Xi Jinping in Tianjin, China. This meeting took place before the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit. During this, a bilateral meeting between Prime Minster Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping lasted for about an hour. Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi emphasized on peace on the border, mutual cooperation and strengthening of relations with China.

Emphasis on strengthening India-China relations

PM Modi said during his meeting with Jinping that I thank you for the warm welcome. We had a very meaningful discussion in Kazan last year. Our relations have got a positive direction, there is an atmosphere of peace and stability after disengagement on the border. He said that an agreement has been reached between our special representatives regarding border management. Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has been resumed

He said that direct flights are being resumed between the two countries. Our cooperation has also connected 2.8 billion people in both the countries and this will also pave the way for the welfare of the entire humanity. PM Modi said that we are committed to take our relations forward on the basis of mutual trust, respect and sensitivity.

During the meeting with Chinese President Jinping, PM Modi was accompanied by NSA Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, Indian Ambassador to China Pradeep Rawat and Joint Secretary (East Asia) Gaurang Lal Das and Additional Secretary in PMO Deepak Mittal from India.

'Agreed for mutual cooperation'

In this meeting, President Jinping said that he was happy to meet PM Modi. Emphasizing on strengthening mutual relations, he said that our meeting held last year in Kazan was successful and it is important for India and China to come together. Jinping said that we are fully agreed for mutual cooperation.

PM Modi will meet Putin

The Chinese President Xi Jinping said, 'This is the 75th anniversary of China-India  relations. Both countries need to handle their relations with a strategic and long-term perspective. We will also have to fulfill our historical responsibilities of maintaining multilateralism, multipolar world and democracy in international institutions. Along with this, we will have to work together for peace and prosperity in Asia and around the world.'

PM Modi will now participate in the SCO summit, in which leaders of more than 20 countries will also be present. PM Modi, who is on a visit to China, is also scheduled to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday.

These meetings of PM Modi are taking place at a time when tensions between India and America over tariffs have increased, even President Donald Trump has cancelled his proposed visit to Delhi.
