The Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Nagpur today. He will visit the Sangh headquarters on the occasion of the centenary year of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). PM Modi was welcomed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari at Nagpur airport. After this, he reached Smriti Mandir and paid tribute to Dr. Hedgewar there.

PM Modi joined RSS at the age of 8
Prime Minister Modi joined RSS at the age of 8. He started going to Sangh branches. In 1971, Modi also went to jail for protesting in support of Bangladesh movement with Jan Sangh and RSS leaders in Delhi.
Summary
In 1972, Modi became an RSS pracharak. After this, he started sitting in Hedgewar Bhavan in Ahmedabad. From here, Modi's contact with the big leaders of the Sangh increased. Later, RSS played an important role in Modi's political career.
