Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Indonesia to participate in the 18th East Asia Summit and the 20th ASEAN-India Summit. His visit to Jakarta is marked by a ceremonial welcome at Jakarta International Airport, where he was received by I. Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, the Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar engaged with the vibrant Indian diaspora at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Jakarta, where they chanted "Modi, Modi" and expressed their excitement.

During his visit, PM Modi is set to engage in crucial discussions focusing on vital topics such as healthcare, environment, digital innovations, and global challenges at the ASEAN-India and East Asia Summits in Indonesia.

This visit underscores the significance of India's engagement with ASEAN nations and emphasizes India's 'Act East Policy.' PM Modi is eager to exchange views with ASEAN leaders, exploring the future dimensions of their partnership, which is now in its fourth decade. The Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, established last year, has revitalized ties between India and ASEAN.

Additionally, PM Modi will partake in the 18th East Asia Summit, where discussions will revolve around critical issues affecting the region, including food and energy security, environment, health, and digital transformation. The summit offers an invaluable platform for EAS leaders to discuss practical cooperation measures for collectively addressing global challenges.

Following his engagements in Indonesia, PM Modi will return to New Delhi in preparation for the G20 Summit, scheduled for September 9 and 10, underlining his commitment to addressing global issues and fostering international cooperation."
