PM Modi pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri on birth anniversary
PM Modi: On the occasion of the 156th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to him at Rajghat. The Prime Minister also visited Vijay Ghat to pay tribute to former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri on his birth anniversary. He said that Gandhi Jayanti is an opportunity to pay tribute to the extraordinary life of our beloved Bapu, whose ideals changed the course of human history.
The former Prime Minister strengthened the nation during challenging times. Lal Bahadur Shastri was an extraordinary statesman.

International Day of Non-Violence
Every year, October 2nd marks the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. He is one of the greatest leaders in history. His birth anniversary is celebrated in India as his birth anniversary, while the world celebrates it as International Day of Non-Violence. This global observance was established in 2007 by the United Nations with the support of more than 140 countries.
