In his 'Mann Ki Baat' program, Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended India's remarkable achievements at the recent World University Games in China. Praising the nation's unprecedented performance, he highlighted India's triumphant collection of 26 medals, including 11 gold medals. This impressive feat surpassed India's cumulative medal count since 1959.

During the radio show, PM Modi engaged in conversations with some of the accomplished athletes, inquiring about their experiences and motivations.

In the midst of the interaction, a student-athlete posed a question to PM Modi, asking, "Which sports do you personally enjoy?"

In response, PM Modi emphasized the importance of India excelling in the world of sports and shared, "While I am vigorously promoting sports as a means of national progress, it's crucial to remember that sports like hockey, football, kabaddi, and kho-kho are deeply rooted in our culture. We should always strive for excellence in these sports."

He continued, "Notably, archery and shooting have been areas where our people have shown impressive performance. Moreover, I've observed a significant change in the attitude towards sports among our youth and families."

Reflecting on the evolving mindset, PM Modi noted, "In the past, families would discourage children from playing sports. Today, the scenario has transformed. The accomplishments of athletes like you serve as motivation for every family. Across various sports, our children are making the nation proud. Their achievements are now discussed in schools and colleges, inspiring a new generation."

In essence, PM Modi's 'Mann Ki Baat' celebrated India's athletic triumphs, reaffirming the nation's commitment to fostering a vibrant sports culture and cultivating a generation of accomplished athletes.
