Highlighting the enduring bond, PM Modi underscored the mutual respect, shared values, and flourishing partnerships between India and South Korea.

PM Modi took to his social media X, and stated, "We are celebrating 50 years of establishment of diplomatic ties between India and Republic of Korea today. It has been a journey of mutual respect, shared values and growing partnerships."

"I extend warm wishes to @President_KR Yoon Suk Yeol and look forward to working closely with him to deepen and expand our Special Strategic Partnership," PM Modi added on X.

In September, the South Korean envoy Chang Jae-bok announced a substantial line of credit of USD 4 billion to India over the next three years for "high-value" projects.

During a press conference, the envoy disclosed that President Yoon Suk Yeol and Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed this financial commitment during their bilateral meeting on the sidelines of the G20 summit.

Providing insights into the meeting, the envoy shared that the two leaders aimed to enhance strategic communication and cooperation. South Korea intends to extend this financial support under the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF), initiated in 1987 to foster economic collaboration with developing nations.

Furthermore, PM Modi and President Yoon pledged to fortify space development cooperation. The envoy revealed that the initially scheduled 20-minute discussion extended to over 40 minutes, underscoring the depth and breadth of their strategic deliberations.

In agreement, President Yoon and Prime Minister Modi committed to advancing strategic communication and cooperation, emphasizing their countries' roles as collaborative partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
