Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni over the phone on Wednesday. The PM thanked Georgia Meloni for the successful India-EU trade agreement. Both leaders reviewed and positively evaluated the development in bilateral strategic partnership in areas such as investment, defence, security, space, science and technology, education, people-to-people relations and counter-terrorism.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to further enhance the partnership in line with the Joint Strategic Action Plan 2025-29. Giving information about the conversation, PM Modi wrote in the post, "Had a very good conversation with Prime Minister Georgia Meloni.

We reiterated our joint commitment to further strengthen the India-Italy strategic partnership and showed shared interest in ending the conflict in Ukraine as soon as possible.
