United Nations: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not participate in the high-level general debate of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) this time. According to the provisional list released on Friday, Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will address world leaders on September 27 on behalf of India. The earlier list said that PM Modi would deliver a speech on September 26, but now it has been changed. The 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly will begin on September 9 2025.

India will be represented by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on September 27. Many important issues will be discussed in the session.

Trump's address to be held on 23 September

In this session, Brazil will traditionally give the first speech, after which US President Donald Trump will speak from the UNGA platform on 23 September. This will be Trump's first speech at the UNGA after becoming President for the second time. On September 26, top leaders of Israel, China, Pakistan and Bangladesh will speak in the General Debate. This year's session is special as it celebrates the 80th year of the United Nations. The theme of the session is - 'Better Together: 80 Years and More for Peace, Development and Human Rights'.

Many important meetings will be held during the session

Let us tell you that the month of September is the busiest time every year at the United Nations Headquarters. This time many important meetings will be held during the session. On September 22, there will be a special meeting to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the United Nations. Apart from this, on September 24, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will host a climate summit, where world leaders will present their new national climate plans. This year, the 30th anniversary of the Fourth World Women's Conference held in Beijing in 1995 will also be celebrated. Apart from this, many other important meetings will be held in this session.

Trade tension continues between India and America
