PM Narendra Modi celebrates World Wildlife Day with lion safari in Gujarat, see pictures
The Prime Minister Narendra Modi also enjoyed jungle safari during his visit to Gujarat. PM Modi reached Singh Sadan, the guest house of the state forest department located in Gir National Park on Sunday night, from where he left for jungle safari on Monday morning. PM Modi enjoyed jungle safari in Gir Wildlife Sanctuary in Junagadh district of Gujarat on Monday morning on the occasion of World Wildlife Day.

From 'Singh Sadan', the Prime Minister went on jungle safari, accompanied by some ministers and senior officials of the forest department. The Prime Minister will also chair the seventh meeting of the National Board for Wildlife (NBWL) at Sasan Gir, the headquarters of Gir Wildlife Sanctuary.
The NBWL has 47 members, including the Army Chief, members of various states, representatives of NGOs working in this field, Chief Wildlife Wardens and Secretaries of various states. After the meeting, PM Modi will also interact with some women forest employees in Sasan
Let us tell you that the central government has sanctioned an amount of more than Rs 2,900 crore under 'Project Lion' for the conservation of Asiatic lions. The only habitat of these lions is Gujarat
The government said that at present, Asiatic lions reside in about 30,000 square kilometers in 53 talukas of nine districts of Gujarat.
Apart from this, under a national project, a 'National Referral Center' is being set up for medical diagnosis and disease prevention of wildlife on more than 20.24 hectares of land in New Pipalya in Junagadh district.
To strengthen conservation efforts, a high-tech monitoring center for wildlife monitoring and a state-of-the-art hospital have also been set up in Sasan.
