PM Narendra Modi Indian pacer Mohammed Shami after losing yesterday’s match
Following the World Cup final loss to Australia, Mohammed Shami expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his kind visit to the team's dressing room and lifting their morale.
India had never lost a match going into the Cricket World Cup 2023 final, but Australia's victory put an end to their incredible run in the competition.
With 42 balls left, Pat Cummins-led Australia, batting second, defeated India by 6 wickets to win the World Cup for the sixth time.
Regretfully, yesterday was not our day, he wrote on X. He expressed his gratitude to all Indians for their support during the tournament. He also remained grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting the dressing room in particular and cheering the team.
