Poison in Yamuna: Former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's troubles seem to be increasing regarding his statement of poison being mixed in the water. Actually, Election Commission has issued another notice to Arvind Kejriwal and asked him to reply with evidence in the matter by 31st January, 11 am. Earlier on 28th January, the Commission had issued a notice to Arvind Kejriwal and sought clarification on his statement. He had alleged that Haryana government has mixed poison in the water supplied to Delhi from Yamuna.

ECI not satisfied with Kejriwal's answer

Congress leader Sandeep Dixit along with BJP leaders had objected to this statement of Arvind Kejriwal and complained about it to the Election Commission. Later, Election Commission had issued a notice to Arvind Kejriwal and asked him to reply by 30th, 8 pm.

On this, Kejriwal had replied to the first notice sent by the Commission on time. He had given his arguments in a 14-page reply, but the Election Commission, expressing dissatisfaction over the reply, has sent a notice again on Thursday.

EC questions asked: In the notice sent again, the Commission has asked to tell which poison was mixed in the water of Yamuna river? What was its quantity? At which place in Yamuna does he have information about the mixing of poison? Tell in detail about which engineer's team of Delhi Jal Board told this, which he mentioned in his statement.

Mention of only ammonia in the notice: In the reply given by Arvind Kejriwal to the notice sent earlier by the Election Commission, only the amount of ammonia in the water of Yamuna is mentioned. According to the Election Commission, Kejriwal has not mentioned the poison mixed in the water anywhere in the entire letter. Citing the letter of the CEO of Delhi Jal Board, he has said that there is ammonia in the water of Yamuna, which is more than the permitted limit and it can pose a serious threat to the health of the people. Arvind Kejriwal had said that the main reason for this was the unchecked release of industrial waste by Haryana into the Yamuna.

Election Commission sends notice to Arvind Kejriwal again

The allegation was termed false: It is worth noting that the allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal on 27 January regarding presence of poison in the Yamuna water were termed false by the CEO of Delhi Jal Board itself. Arvind Kejriwal had said that the engineers of Delhi Jal Board had detected the presence of poison in the water, but the Chief Executive Officer of the Jal Board itself had denied it and sent his report to the Chief Secretary of the Delhi Government Dharmendra Kumar.
