According to CPCB data, air pollution has reached dangerous levels in several areas of Delhi. The Air Quality Index (AQI) has crossed 400 in these areas.

Nehru Nagar - 436

Chandni Chowk - 431

RK Puram - 420

Rohini - 417

Siri Fort - 408

Karni Singh Shooting Range - 406

Anand Vihar - 405

All these areas have AQI levels between 401 and 500, which is considered 'severe', affecting even healthy individuals and severely impacting those with existing illnesses.

Weather Conditions and Increase in Pollution

Delhi's pollution crisis has worsened due to the drop in temperature and foggy conditions. Low temperatures and slow wind speeds cause pollutants to accumulate near the surface and prevent them from dissipating. This weather change has trapped pollutants, leading to a significant deterioration in air quality. This situation is particularly dangerous for children, the elderly, and those suffering from respiratory diseases.
