Pollution mingles with Delhi's mild winter, AQI at 'very poor', level

Pollution In Delhi:  While numerous steps are being taken to improve air quality in the national capital, Delhi, grand preparations for the Chhath festival are also underway. According to the CPCB, the Air Quality Index (AQI) in India Gate and surrounding areas is 325, meaning the air quality is in the 'very poor' category. The worst AQIs in Delhi were recorded in Anand Vihar (430) and Wazirpur (403), which fall in the 'severe' category.

NCR Air Quality Index

The situation is similar in other areas of the NCR. Noida's AQI was recorded at 353 (very poor), Ghaziabad's AQI at 310 (very poor), Gurugram's AQI at 247 (poor), and Faridabad's AQI at 198 (moderate).

Preparations for Artificial Rain

If the weather in Delhi remains favorable, artificial rain could occur any time on October 27th or 28th. Meanwhile, preparations for the great festival of Chhath are in full swing in Delhi. Vasudev Ghat on the banks of the Yamuna is being decorated in a grand manner this time. Modern ghats have been built in every district. Large tents have been erected along the Yamuna's banks. Large screens are also installed where cultural programs related to Chhath will be held.

The ghats have been leveled with JCB machines, and special attention has been paid to cleanliness and beautification. The ghats have been illuminated with beautiful lights. Arrangements have been made for the lakhs of devotees here. Large changing rooms have been built.

Meanwhile, the weather in Delhi-NCR is gradually changing, bringing a feeling of coolness in the mornings and nights. However, a mild heat is still felt during the day.
