President gave Gallantry Awards, honored army soldiers for bravery

President Draupadi Murmu presented many gallantry awards including Shaurya Chakra to brave soldiers at the Defense Investiture Ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

Gallantry Awards: President Draupadi Murmu honored the brave soldiers of the country with Shaurya Chakra and other gallantry awards during the Defense Investiture Ceremony-I held at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Thursday. These honors were given to those military personnel who showed extreme bravery, courage and sacrifice.

Many dignitaries including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar and Defense Minister Rajnath Singh were present at the ceremony.

President gave Gallantry Awards

While the ceremony was organized at the Republic Pavilion of Rashtrapati Bhavan, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and the chiefs of the three armies were present.

President Murmu honored the brave soldiers

On this dignified occasion, the country paid tribute and honor to its brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the security of the nation or showed extraordinary courage. The ceremony became a symbol of respect for the country's military tradition and valor.

PM Narendra Modi said on social site X that he attended the Defense Investiture Ceremony-2025 (Phase-1), where gallantry awards were presented. India will always be grateful to its armed forces for their valor and their commitment to the security of our nation.

She hugged the families of the martyred soldiers

During this, the President awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously to The Sikh Light Infantry 19 National Rifles Sepoy Pradeep Singh and Major Ashish Dhonchak (Army Medal). During the ceremony, President Draupadi Murmu came down from the dais twice and hugged the families of the martyred soldiers.

Those who received the Shaurya Chakra include Squadron Leader Deepak Kumar, Major Vijay Verma of Rajput Regiment 44th Battalion Rashtriya Rifles, Deputy Commandant Vikrant Kumar, Lieutenant Colonel CVS Nikhil of Parachute Regiment, Major Triptpreet Singh of Army Service Corps, Jeffrey Hamingchullo of CRPF, Inspector (GD), Special Police Officer Abdul Latif of Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The President honored the brave soldiers

Apart from these, Subedar Sanjeev Singh Jasrotia of Jammu and Kashmir Rifles 5th Battalion, Lieutenant Commander Kapil Yadav, Squadron Leader Deepak Kumar, Subedar P. Pubin Singha of The Artillery Regiment, Colonel Pawan Singh, 666 Army Aviation Squadron, Wing Commander Vernon Desmond Keane, Major Sahil Randhawa were awarded the Shaurya Chakra.

Lieutenant Commander Kapil Yadav, AEO INS Visakhapatnam and Major Triptpreet Singh of Army Service Corps 34 Rashtriya Rifles were also awarded the Shaurya Chakra by the President.
