President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the 'National e-Vidhan Application' (NeVA) in Gujarat, a transformative initiative aimed at revolutionizing the legislative process by creating a paperless environment. This landmark step is expected to not only enhance legislative efficiency but also significantly increase transparency in the assembly's operations.

Addressing the state assembly at the commencement of its four-day monsoon session, President Murmu highlighted the profound impact NeVA would have on the functioning of the Gujarat assembly. She expressed her belief that NeVA would introduce transparency into the legislative process and enable members of the House to access and adopt the best practices from other legislative assemblies across the country.

Through NeVA, members of the House will have the opportunity to learn and implement the best practices of the Parliament and other legislative bodies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

President Murmu stressed the importance of technology in simplifying people's lives and facilitating increased connectivity between legislators and the public. She emphasized that the NeVA initiative would further empower MLAs to stay connected with the citizens they serve.

In her address, the President urged legislators to maintain parliamentary decorum and dignity while setting new standards for discussing public welfare within the House. She emphasized that their collective efforts could not only contribute to making Gujarat a more prosperous state but also play a pivotal role in achieving India's goal of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047.

President Murmu passionately advocated for enhanced women's representation in politics, acknowledging the remarkable achievements of women in diverse fields such as science, technology, defense, and sports. She underscored the need for a corresponding increase in their representation in the political arena and the critical role women can play in nation-building.

Amid speculation regarding the introduction of a women's reservation Bill in the upcoming special session of Parliament, beginning on September 18, President Murmu's call for greater women's representation resonates strongly.

The President also highlighted Gujarat's significant contributions to manufacturing, milk production, the startup ecosystem, rooftop solar power generation, and wind energy production. She praised the state's pivotal role in nurturing a vibrant startup ecosystem and emphasized the potential for innovative and non-traditional energy sources in Gujarat, aligning with the formation of the Global Biofuels Alliance during the G20 Summit, an initiative led by India.

President Murmu concluded by emphasizing the importance of women's active participation in all spheres as a catalyst for comprehensive national development, underscoring the potential that lies in harnessing the abilities and aspirations of half the population.
