President XI will not attend G20
Chinese President Xi Jingping will not attending the 18th G20 summit to be held in Delhi. The absence of President Xi was expected since a couple of days, but the official word was waitied. Beijing has confirmed that President wont be visiting for G20 instead Chinese Premier Li Qiang will be representing China in the event.
The summit will be held from Sept 9-10 where most of heads of states of countries will be attending. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron will be attending the event amongst others. President Biden has expressed his disappointment over Xi's absence from the summit. "I am disappointed ... but I am going to get to see him," Biden informed reporters in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, refraining from providing additional information about the upcoming meeting with the Chinese president. Joe Bidden is set to visit India for G20 from 7-10 September.
Indian air force has set up a special Operations Direction Center to coordinate with with security arrangements. 45,000 Delhi Police staff along with commandos responsible for providing personnel security to dignitaries will be included. Other strict security arrangements are in place in Pragati Maidan as well as the hotel stays of dignitaries.
