Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Maharishi Valmiki International Airport on Saturday, marking a significant event in Ayodhya. This visit follows his participation in the Deepotsav celebrations last year.

Upon his arrival, PM Modi received an enthusiastic welcome from the people of Ayodhya, with several dignitaries in attendance, including Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandi Ben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, VK Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Brajesh Pathak, and Bharatiya Janata Party State President Chaudhary Bhupendra Singh.

The primary focus of the visit is the inauguration of the newly constructed Ayodhya airport. Prime Minister Modi, after leaving the airport, led an impressive road show, showcasing the immense support from the local community. The airport, developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore in its first phase, boasts a state-of-the-art terminal building spanning 6500 sqm, designed to accommodate approximately 10 lakh passengers annually.

Notably, the Terminal Building's facade mirrors the architectural style of the upcoming Shri Ram Mandir of Ayodhya.

Internally, the terminal is adorned with local art, paintings, and murals depicting the life of Bhagwan Shri Ram. Ensuring sustainability, the airport incorporates features such as insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, fountains in the landscaping, a water treatment plant, a sewage treatment plant, and a solar power plant. These eco-friendly features contribute to achieving a GRIHA 5-star rating.

The inauguration also includes a public program where Prime Minister Modi will dedicate the airport to the nation and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects in the state, collectively valued at over Rs 15,000 crore. This encompasses projects worth around Rs 11,100 crore for Ayodhya and its environs and approximately Rs 4600 crore for various projects across Uttar Pradesh.

In line with the broader vision, the newly inaugurated airport is expected to enhance connectivity in the region, fostering growth in tourism, business activities, and employment opportunities. Prime Minister Modi's vision for Ayodhya includes the development of modern, world-class infrastructure, improved connectivity, and the revitalization of civic amenities while preserving the city's rich history and heritage.

Alongside the airport, other projects like a redeveloped railway station, widened and beautified roads, and additional civic infrastructure are being inaugurated to contribute to the overall enhancement of Ayodhya's landscape.
