Prisoners will dip in holy water of Maha Kumbh, special arrangements in all the jails of UP
Maha Kumbh 2025: The holy water of Sangam from Prayagraj Maha Kumbh has now been taken to all the jails of Uttar Pradesh, where the prisoners will be given a bath. There is a huge crowd of devotees in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. More than 56 thousand people have taken a holy bath in Triveni Sangam during Maha Kumbh so far. This time it is the turn of the prisoners and for this special program have been organized inside the jails.
More than 90 thousand prisoners and detainees will be bathed with the holy water of Sangam in all 76 jails of Uttar Pradesh.
Kalash installation will be done on the morning of 21st February

Minister Dara Singh Chauhan will personally visit Lucknow Jail
Jail Minister Dara Singh Chauhan and senior jail officials are expected to attend the event to be held in Lucknow Jail on February 21. The office of Jail Minister Dara Singh Chauhan informed the previous day that this initiative is being taken under the supervision of Jail Director General (DG) PV Ramasastri. Gangajal from Sangam will be taken to all 75 jails including 7 central jails, where it will be mixed with regular water in a small tank.

The prisoners will take a bath in the holy water after performing Puja, which will ensure their participation in the spiritual event despite being in jail.
1450 prisoners of Central and District Jail will take a holy bath today
1450 prisoners lodged in Central Jail Naini and District Jail will take a holy bath in the jail itself on Friday. Actually, Gangajal has been brought from Sangam. It has been poured into a tank built in the jail. The prisoners will be given a bath with this.
Senior Jail Superintendent Rang Bahadur said that this arrangement has been made on the instructions of the government. There is an atmosphere of happiness among the prisoners due to the news of the arrival of holy water. About 1735 prisoners are serving sentence in the central jail. But many of them are also from Muslim religion.

In such a situation, there is a plan to make about 1450 prisoners take a bath in the water of Sangam coast. Jail Superintendent Rang Bahadur said that arrangements have been made in jails across the state to give bath to the prisoners. Along with this, worship and bhajan-kirtan are also being organized in many jails.
Event held in Unnao jail on 17 February
Unnao jail organized a similar program on February 17, giving the prisoners a chance to participate in the ritual in advance.
Summary
The Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj is scheduled to end on February 26. So far, more than 58 crore people have bathed in the Triveni Sangam in the Maha Kumbh, which started on 13 January 2025.
