Punjab: Attack on BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia's house, grenade thrown, police investigating
Punjab: There was an explosion at the Jalandhar residence of former Punjab cabinet minister and senior BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia late on Monday night. While it is suspected that a grenade was thrown at his house, however a police team is present at the spot and is investigating. Jalandhar DCP Manpreet Singh said that the forensic team will inspect and submit a report.
BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia said that the blast took place at around 1 am. I was sleeping, I thought it was the sound of thunder. Later I was told that there was an explosion. After this I sent my gunman to the police station. CCTV is being examined; forensic experts are also present here.

Explosives thrown at BJP leader's house
In fact, explosives were thrown at the Jalandhar house of BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia, a former cabinet minister in the Punjab government, late on Monday night. It is suspected that a grenade was thrown at his house. The police is currently investigating the matter. At present, it is not clear whether it was a grenade attack, or some other explosive was thrown at his house.
BJP leader was present in the house at the time of the attack
BJP leader Manoranjan Kalia said that there was an explosion at around 1 am late night. I was sleeping at that time; I thought it was the sound of thunder. Later I was told that there was an explosion.
Forensic team is investigating
Jalandhar Police Commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur said that we received information about the explosion here at around 1 am, after which we reached the spot and started investigation. The forensic team is investigating the matter. We are also monitoring the CCTV.
