Rains Wreak Havoc In Maharashtra: Continuous rains over the past two days have worsened the situation in Maharashtra. The torrential rains, especially in Mumbai and surrounding districts since late Saturday night, have exacerbated the hardships for the people. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is closely monitoring the situation and is in touch with district magistrates regarding the rain and flood situation.

On Sunday (September 28), Chief Minister Fadnavis reviewed the rain situation and relief operations in eight districts of Marathwada and Solapur and directed officials to intensify ground-level efforts. The CM reviewed the situation in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Beed, Hingoli, Jalna, Latur, Nanded, Dharashiv, Parbhani, and Solapur districts.
CM gave instructions to officials
During the review, the CM directed officials to ensure adequate arrangements for food, water, and health facilities in relief camps. He also ordered immediate increase in supplies due to the shortage of fodder in several districts. Furthermore, given the increased release of water from dams due to heavy rains, the CM stressed the need to focus on early evacuation of people from vulnerable areas.

Instructions for the Supply of Fodder for Animals
A statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Sunday said that the CM directed officials to ensure adequate arrangements for food, drinking water, and health facilities in relief camps. The CM said that all officials should remain in the affected areas and closely monitor relief and rescue operations. Taking cognizance of reports of fodder shortages in some areas, the CM directed the immediate supply of fodder for livestock.
Review of Dam Release Status
The CM reviewed the water release status from dams across the state and directed the Water Resources Department to coordinate with local administrations and maintain full vigilance. According to a statement from the CMO, those who have already moved to relief camps have been asked to remain there until the situation improves.
