A daughter-in-law from a small village in the desert region has turned her dreams into reality. Amidst the responsibilities of marriage, family, and raising a daughter, she never gave up on her studies; ultimately, by becoming a judge, she brought honor to her entire family and village.
Rajasthan: Deepu Kanwar, a resident of the Barmer district in Rajasthan, has been selected for the Gujarat Judicial Service (GJS). She attributes the entire credit for this success to her in-laws and her husband. At the time of her marriage, Deepu was a second-year LLB student; she arrived at her marital home bringing along her law books and her dream of becoming a judge. She found such a supportive environment for her studies at her in-laws' home that whenever she would attempt to do household chores, her father-in-law would scold the others, insisting, "Let the daughter-in-law study."

Deepu began practicing in court in 2021 and took the examination for the first time in 2022, though she fell short during the interview stage. In 2023, she was unsuccessful in the Mains examination, yet she refused to give up. In her third attempt in 2025, she secured the 79th rank and became a judge.
