Architectural Marvel of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir Unveiled
The Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Mandir, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, stands as a magnificent architectural marvel. Its dimensions include a length (east-west) of 380 feet, a width of 250 feet, and a height of 161 feet. Supported by 392 pillars and featuring 44 doors, the temple's pillars and walls showcase intricate sculptures depicting Hindu deities.
Details of the Main Sanctum Sanctorum and Mandir Complex
The main sanctum sanctorum on the ground floor houses the idol of Shri Ramlalla, depicting the childhood form of Bhagwan Shri Ram. The Mandir has five Halls (Mandaps), each serving a specific purpose. Noteworthy features include the historic Well (Sita koop) and the restored ancient Mandir of Bhagwan Shiv at Kuber Tila.
Innovative Construction Techniques Embrace Tradition
The Mandir's foundation, crafted with a 14-meter-thick layer of roller-compacted concrete (RCC), mimics the appearance of artificial rock. Avoiding the use of iron anywhere in the Mandir, a 21-foot-high plinth constructed with granite protects against ground moisture. The complex features advanced infrastructure, including a sewage treatment plant, water treatment plant, fire safety water supply, and an independent power station.
Ram Charan highlighted the use of traditional and indigenous technology in the Mandir's construction, emphasizing a connection to the country's heritage.
