Election Commission's collusion with the ruling party - Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi, responding to the uproar from the ruling party, said that he had not said anything wrong. Educational institutions have been taken over. Vice-Chancellors are being appointed not on the basis of merit, but on the basis of their affiliation with a particular organization. The CBI and ED have also been taken over by people associated with a particular organization. The third institution, the Election Commission, which controls elections in the country, is also under the control of this organization. I have proof of this.

Discussion on electoral reforms in Lok Sabha

The BJP is using the Election Commission to damage democracy. The Chief Justice of India was removed from the process of appointing the Chief Election Commissioner. I was sitting there, on one side were PM Modi and Amit Shah, and on the other side was me. No Prime Minister has ever done this. In December 2023, the rules were changed to stipulate that no Election Commissioner can be punished. This was done just before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Rules regarding CCTV and data were changed. The Election Commission is colluding with the ruling party. This is not a question of data, it is a question of elections.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Vice-Chancellors of all universities in the country are from the RSS. This led to an uproar from the members of the ruling party. Speaker Om Birla told Rahul Gandhi to speak only on electoral reforms and not to name any organization.

Summary

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said, "We are all sitting here to listen to the Leader of the Opposition. If he is not going to speak on the subject, then why are we all wasting our time?"
