External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar gave his first reactions after the recent acts of Vandalism against a Hindu Temple in the United States of America by separatists. The minister said that he strongly condemns the act and that those undertaking such separatist acts against India should not be tolerated on foreign land and should not be given space on foreign land.

The minister further said that the consulate in San Francisco has already condemned the attack and has also contacted the authorities who are further investigating the same matter.

Indian Consulate's reaction

Indian consulate has reacted to the anti-Indian act which took place in the city of Newark in California. The Indian consulate in San Francisco took to X  to condemn the hateful acts of Vandalising a Hindu temple in California and have contacted the authorities to take swift action on the same.

The consulate in a post stated " We strongly condemn the defacing of SMVS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir at Newark, California with anti-India graffiti. This incident has hurt the sentiments of the Indian community. We have pressed for quick investigation and prompt action against the vandals by the US authorities in this matter."

Hate Crime against India

On December 22, Friday(local time), pro-Khalistani separatists vandalized a Swaminarayan Hindu Temple in the state of California in Newark City. The Hindu American Foundation broke the news on their X handle by saying that "Swaminarayan Mandir Vasana Sanstha in Newark, California was defaced with pro-#Khalistan slogans. @NewarkCA_Police and @CivilRights have been informed and a full investigation will follow. We are insisting that this should be investigated as a hate crime."

USA Congressman condemned the act

Shri Thanedar, Congressman from Michigan, USA, who is an Indian-origin American raised his voice on the issue and condemned the act by stating "Totally unacceptable such Hindu hate!" in a post on X.

Rohit Sharma, a US-based Indian journalist shared a post on Twitter which said that the "Mayor of Fremont, Newark city council, Police chief, planning commissioner and head of Sikh gurdwara" went to the site and condemned the act.

The presence of these people sends a good message to the Hindu Community residing in the USA. It sends a message that the authorities are not ignoring such acts of Hate-crime against one community.

The Police Department of Newark has also expressed disappointment on the issue and has assured that such a nuisance will not be tolerated from now on.  The Police official told media “I can also tell you that as a member of the Newark Police Department and the Newark community, we're deeply saddened when these types of acts occur, and we think they're senseless and they have no room. We won't tolerate them here in Newark. So today, I wanted to make sure that you understand how seriously we take these situations and know that we will investigate as thoroughly as possible with utmost care and sensitivity.”

Series of Anti India and Anti-Hindu Acts

United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, and Australia are the countries where Pro-Khalistani people have been undertaking anti-India, anti-Hindu, and anti-Modi activities for a long time. These acts of Vanadlising Places of worship have become a common act.

Around a dozen Hindu temples are attacked by Pro-Khalistani elements in foreign lands.
