PM In Manipur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached there for the first time after the 2023 Manipur violence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated several development projects here. Prime Minister Narendra Modi met the displaced in Churachandpur, Manipur. Churachandpur was the worst affected during the violence in Manipur.

After reaching here, PM Modi said that I salute the people of Manipur and bow my head in respect.

PM visited the state for the first time after the Manipur violence

The people of the state welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Manipur with traditional dance. Former Chief Minister N Biren Singh has described this visit of PM Modi as a moment leading towards peace and lasting progress. In Churachandpur, PM Modi met the families of the displaced people after the violence. Along with this, PM Modi gifted projects worth Rs 8500 crore to Manipur.

Centre trying to speed up the development journey in Manipur - PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the beginning of his address that I salute the spirit of the people of Manipur. There is great power in the culture here. Mani has Mani in the name of Manipur itself. Many projects have been inaugurated here. I congratulate the people of Manipur for these projects.

India is developing very fast - Modi

PM Modi said that India is developing very fast. We are going to become the third largest economy of the world very soon. We started a scheme to build concrete houses for the poor across the country. Thousands of families in Manipur also benefited from this. In the past years, more than 15 crore countrymen have got tap water facility. Till 7-8 years ago, only 25-30 thousand houses in Manipur had piped water. Today, more than 3.5 lakh houses are getting tap water facility here.

The Prime Minister said that we are satisfied that recently talks have been held for agreements with different groups in the hills and valleys. This is a part of the efforts of the Government of India, in which work is being done to establish peace by giving importance to dialogue, respect and mutual understanding. I will appeal to all the organizations to move forward on the path of peace and fulfill their dreams. I am with you. The Government of India is with the people of Manipur.

Road connectivity provided to hundreds of villages here - PM

The Prime Minister said that you all know how difficult it was to reach the villages here earlier. Now road connectivity has been provided to hundreds of villages. The hill people and tribal villages have benefited a lot from this. Rail connectivity is expanding in Manipur during our government. The Jiribam-Imphal railway line will soon connect the capital Imphal to the national rail network.

Under the PM-DEVINE scheme, our government is developing modern health services in five hill districts. Through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the Government of India is providing free treatment up to ₹5 lakh to the poor. In Manipur alone, more than 2.5 lakh patients have received free treatment through this scheme.
