Gandhinagar: A retirement farewell ceremony was organised in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Information and Broadcasting Secretary Dr. Vikrant Pandey to mark the superannuation of Regulator Shri Arvind Patel after 34 years of distinguished service. Information Commissioner Shri K.L. Bachani remained specially present on the occasion.




Addressing the gathering, Dr. Vikrant Pandey described Shri Arvind Patel as hardworking, intelligent and patient. He said Patel handled challenging areas such as media and public relations with maturity and clarity. He added that the Information Department plays a crucial role in delivering the work of the government to the last person in society and called it a sensitive and important department

Dr. Pandey noted that Patel’s ability to coordinate government communication amid limited resources and constant media scrutiny was commendable. He said his tenure reflected achievement and dedication.




Information Commissioner Shri K.L. Bachani congratulated Shri Patel on his retirement and highlighted his punctuality and quick decision making. He said that during complex media management situations and administrative challenges, Patel’s readiness to work round the clock strengthened the department. He added that his work culture would serve as a guiding light for new officers.




Additional Public Relations Officer to the Chief Minister Shri Vivek Trivedi said that during major programmes of the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, Patel remained calm while handling intricate media planning issues and provided precise solutions. He described Patel’s approach as an example of effective crisis management.




Joint Information Controller Shri Sanjay Kachote welcomed the dignitaries and shared his experiences of working with Shri Patel. Joint Controllers Shri Mitesh Modasia, Shri Jayesh Dave, Shri Arvind Machhar and Smt. Hetal Dave also shared their professional experiences and extended best wishes for his retired life

Deputy Information Controller of the News Branch Shri Dilip Gajjare delivered the vote of thanks.

Family members of Shri Arvind Patel, senior officials from various districts, and officers and staff of the Information Commissioner’s office attended the ceremony in large numbers and conveyed their best wishes for his healthy and fulfilling retired life
