Signs Of A Resounding NDA Comeback In Bihar:  Exit poll projections released after the completion of the second phase of voting in the Bihar Assembly elections indicate a significant return to power for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

This means Nitish Kumar and the BJP alliance are heading towards another term.

According to a compilation of exit polls from various agencies, the NDA could win more than 147 seats, surpassing the majority mark. The magic number for a majority in the 43-seat Bihar Assembly is 122. Exit poll projections predict a larger mandate for the NDA than the 125 seats it won in 2020.

The biggest concern is that Prashant Kishore's Jan Suraj Party (JSP) doesn't seem to have much impact in this election. Almost all agencies, including Chanakya Strategies, Matrize, People's Insight, and P-Mark, have limited Jan Suraj to a mere 0 to 2 seats.

Exit poll projections released

The MATRIZE-IANS exit poll predicts 48 percent of the vote for the NDA, 37 percent for the Grand Alliance, and 15 percent for others. This means the NDA appears to be gaining a significant advantage. According to this poll, the NDA is projected to win 147-167 seats, the Grand Alliance 70-90 seats, and others 2-10 seats.

However, experts caution that exit polls are not always accurate, so these figures should be viewed with caution. The exit polls place the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress-led Grand Alliance in a distant second place.

Meanwhile, Prashant Kishor's (PK), who entered electoral politics, Jan Suraj Party (JSP) has failed to impress pollsters. All major agencies, including Chanakya Strategies, Matrix, and People's Pulse, have not projected his party to even reach double digits.

Key Election Issues and Political Legacy

This election season has been extremely heated. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah held several rallies, highlighting the theme of "development versus jungle raj." Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav sought public support by addressing unemployment, inflation, and promises of government jobs. Tejashwi made major populist promises, including a government job for every family and ₹30,000 in aid to women.
