Special session of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly today, Pahalgam attack to be discussed

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has called a one-day special session of the Assembly on April 28 to discuss the gruesome terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Lieutenant Governor said in an order, "I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, exercising the powers conferred on me under Section 18 (1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019, hereby summon a meeting of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly at 10.30 am on Monday, 28 April in Jammu."

Officials said that a special session of the assembly has been called to discuss various issues after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The Jammu and Kashmir Cabinet had decided on Wednesday to advise the Lieutenant Governor to convene a special session of the Assembly. A cabinet meeting was held on Wednesday evening under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

Pahalgam attack to be discussed

26 people were killed in the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. The government says that this incident was carried out by Pakistan's terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba. There is anger in the country after this attack. People are demanding action against Pakistan. The government has suspended the Indus Water Treaty after this attack.

Apart from this, the government had ordered Pakistani citizens who came to India on short term visa to leave India by Sunday. Along with this, the government had also ordered to stop the trade through Attari border. The government has limited the number of employees in the High Commission of Pakistan.

The deadline for the return of Pakistani citizens who came to India ended today. After the Pahalgam terrorist attack, when the Indian government announced that all the citizens who came to India will have to return, after that the process of return of Pakistani citizens living in different states of the country is continuing.

So far, a total of 537 Pakistanis have returned to their homeland Pakistan from the Attari border of Amritsar. Whereas 1387 Indians have returned to India from Pakistan so far.
