SC grants bail to Tahir Hussain
During the hearing before a three-member bench headed by Justice Dipankar Dutta, Delhi Police opposed the custody parole. Delhi Police said that if custody parole is granted, then the rest of the accused will also start demanding custody parole. Delhi Police said that if bail is granted by the Supreme Court for election campaigning, it will set a precedent and there will be a queue in the courts for prisoners seeking bail for campaigning.
Delhi Police's reply creates the problem
During the hearing on Tahir Hussain's petition, Justice Vikram Nath asked Delhi Police that why didn't you oppose custody parole for nomination? On this, ASG SV Raju, who appeared in the Supreme Court on behalf of Delhi Police, argued that he had returned after filing his nomination. Justice Vikram Nath said that he will come back here too. He will not stay at his house. ASG said that please pay attention to the expenses. On this, Justice Mehta said that he (Tahir Hussain) has to look into it.

Supreme Court said that during parole custody, he will not give any statement related to the case nor will he meet the witnesses. Delhi Police said that other expenses including jail van during custody parole will be Rs 4 lakh 14000 lakhs.
Tahir's argument
Tahir's lawyer Agarwal argued that his client should be released on custody parole from tomorrow, 29.01.2025 to 03.02.2025. He further said that the petitioner will bear all the expenses.
The petitioner will stay here mainly with the deputed officers. Alternatively, he will arrange to stay at Crown Plaza. He argued that the petitioner can be allowed to go to the office and attend meetings.
