Tallest Indian Flag installed at Attari-Wagah border inaugurated by Nitin Gadkari
India has proudly hoisted its tallest national flag at the Attari-Wagah border in a historic ceremony. The towering tricolour, standing at an impressive height of 418 feet, was unveiled today, marking a significant milestone. Notably, it stands 18 feet taller than its counterpart on the Pakistani side of the border.
Installed by the diligent efforts of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), this monumental flag inauguration was graced by Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, and the Chief Minister of Punjab, Bhagwant Mann, who were present to witness this extraordinary moment in Amritsar.

On the occasion, The union minister said "It is the golden day of my life. I have come to Attari-Wagah border for the first time. NHAI has installed the tallest national flag here, This is a place that inspires you to be patriotic. I have done a lot of things in life- tunnels, bridges but this is the most amazing. I am delighted. I thank the jawans who are guarding our borders".

It's worth mentioning that Pakistan had unfurled its flag, Parcham-e-Sitarah-o-Hilal, in August of the same year on its side of the border. The grandeur of the Indian tricolour comes at a considerable cost, with the NHAI investing a substantial ₹3.5 crore in this monumental endeavour.
Hoisting the Flag
What makes this feat even more remarkable is that it surpasses the previous record held by the tricolour in Karnataka's Belagavi by a staggering 57 feet, solidifying its place as India's tallest national flag. This monumental flag serves as a symbol of national pride and unity, and it stands as a testament to India's commitment to its heritage and ideals.
