TDP held protests early morning on Saturday after their supreme leader and former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by police on Friday night in Nandyal town . TDP general Secretary and the son of Naidu, Nara Lokesh was involved in protests and was also detained by police with several others.

According to Telugu Desam Party (TDP)members, the Police illegally arrested Chandrababu Naidu on Friday. TDP workers claim that the police was not able to answer their question of grounds of arrest. TDP was protesting in East Godawari District. They also claim that the police stopped Lokesh to meet with his father who is a diabetic and High Blood Pressure patient.

Party spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram blamed that police and CID was carrying the arrest of Naidu on Friday night when he was resting in a bus after addressing a public meeting in the town. The police surrounded the area where he was resting in the bus, and TDP tried stopping them to arrest at this time and also asked the reasons for arrest to which the police was was not able to answer.

The police arrested him for Skill Development Scam. According to police notice  he was arrested under …U/s (under section) 120(B), 166, 167, 418, 420, 465, 468, 471, 409, 201, 109 r/w 34 & 37 IPC and Sec 12, 13 (2) r/w 13 (1) (c) and (d) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1998 of CID. These are non bailable charges. Bail could only be granted by High Court for which the party is approached High Court.

TDP workers blame YSRCP government and Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy for illegally arresting Naidu and called them the most corrupted people.
