Ajit Pawar Plane Crash: Civil aviation expert and President of the Council of Indian Aviation, Nitin Jadhav, provided a detailed analysis of the YSR-45 aircraft accident in Baramati, Pune. He explained the reasons behind this tragic accident using the aircraft model and CCTV footage. He also used AI footage for his analysis.

Nitin Jadhav explained that both engines of the YSR-45 aircraft are located at the rear. He showed the CCTV footage that recorded the plane crash. According to his analysis, the visibility during landing was only 3,000 meters, whereas according to regulations, it should be at least 5,000 meters. Air Traffic Control (ATC) had also initially refused landing due to bad weather.

How did the plane crash happen?

Jadhav explained that since there were VIP passengers on board and they had to reach Mumbai by evening, pilot Sumit Kapoor, after communicating with ATC at 8:40 AM, decided to land on runway 11/29 despite low visibility.

He turned the aircraft to the left and attempted to land on the runway again. During this time, the aircraft's speed was high, and the runway was not clearly visible. This caused the aircraft to lose balance and enter a 'stall' condition. Once an aircraft stalls, it becomes extremely difficult to control. As a result, the aircraft crashed and a massive explosion occurred.

Lack of basic facilities and demand for investigation

Nitin Jadhav highlighted that the Baramati airport is primarily a pilot training airport. It lacks sufficient CCTV cameras, an Instrumental Landing System (ILS), proper runway lighting, and clear runway markings. In such a situation, the pilot is entirely dependent on visibility, which was extremely poor that day. He says the aircraft should have been diverted to Pune or Karad airport.

Questions raised about the airline company

Nitin Jadhav has demanded a thorough investigation through letters written to the Prime Minister, Home Minister, Civil Aviation Minister, and the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. He has questioned how the airline company acquired 25 new aircraft in the last 4-5 years? Did it adhere to its roster and DGCA protocols? Were rules disregarded in the flight operations during the elections?

AI footage used to explain where the mistake occurred

To substantiate his analysis, Nitin Jadhav also presented a video created using Artificial Intelligence (AI). This video demonstrates how, due to poor visibility at Baramati airport, the pilot would not have been able to see the runway. This clearly shows how dangerous it was to attempt a landing in such conditions and that the aircraft should have been diverted to another airport.

Summary

A demand has been raised for an investigation into the YSR-45 aircraft accident in Baramati. Civil aviation expert Nitin Jadhav stated that poor visibility, pilot error, and a lack of basic facilities at the airport were the main causes of the accident.
