Threat to blow up Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's house, accused arrested

A bomb threat was given to Union Minister Nitin Gadkari's house in Nagpur, which later turned out to be false. Nagpur Police arrested the person who made the threat on Sunday. Officials said that the accused person called the city's Police Control Room (PCR) emergency number 112 on Sunday morning and made the threat, after which the officials got into a panic.

The official said that during the investigation, the police traced the mobile number from which the call was made. Meanwhile local police found out that the phone number is registered in the name of Umesh Vishnu Raut, a resident of Vima Dawakhana in Sakkardara area of Nagpur.

According to the information, a call came on the number 112 of the police control room at 8.46 am on Sunday. The caller threatened to blow up Nitin Gadkari's residence with a bomb. As soon as the threat was received, the police informed the local police. After receiving the threat to the control room, Pratap Nagar police registered a case against an unknown person and started the investigation. Police and squad team also conducted a search operation at Gadkari's residence

The Nagpur police said, that based on mobile location, police detained Raut from Vima Dawakhana premises. Here he was detained for questioning and later formally arrested by the Crime Branch."Raut reportedly works at a country liquor shop, the police official said. He said the bomb threat call turned out to be false.

Senior officials said further investigation is being carried out to find out the motive behind the false threat. It is also being ascertained if the accused has a record of any such mischief in the past. Police said a case has been registered against Raut for threatening to place a bomb in Nitin Gadkari's house.
