Trump approves TikTok deal
This has been a long-standing dispute between the US and China. The US has repeatedly described TikTok as a threat to the country's national security. Therefore, if TikTok's operations are transferred to an American company, the app will not be banned in the US.
What is the price?
According to a Reuters report, US Vice President J.D. Vance stated that TikTok US has been valued at $14 billion. Trump's executive order has temporarily postponed the TikTok ban. The executive order prevents the Department of Justice from enforcing the law that would have banned TikTok's parent company, ByteDance, nationwide.
Who will be the new owner and what will change?
Under the deal, TikTok US will appoint a new board of directors. The algorithm recommendation, source code, and content moderation system will also be transferred to the new owner. Following Trump's executive order, Oracle will now handle TikTok US's security operations and offer cloud services.

In addition, Oracle, Silver Lake, and Abu Dhabi-based MGX Group will acquire a 45 percent stake in the new entity. Vance told Reuters, "There was some resistance from China initially, but we wanted TikTok to continue operating." We also wanted American data to be safe.
Trump spoke with the Chinese President
Trump also told reporters that he spoke with Chinese President Xi Jinping and he had agreed to this. Donald Trump said, "I told him (Xi Jinping) we were going to do this, and he said you do it." He also stated that TikTok US will now be completely operated by the US.
Summary
Trump also stated that TikTok's new owners will ensure that the social media platform is not used to spread propaganda. However, ByteDance has not provided any information on this matter. The company had previously stated that it would fully comply with the law to keep TikTok in the US.
