Time bank opened in Kanpur
For example, if a member spends two hours in the service of an elderly person, then those many hours are recorded in his account. Later when he himself needs help in some work, then he can withdraw those same hours from his account.
According to the information, time bank was first started in Japan. There, the family members were not able to take out time to take care of the elderly, so the people of the society together made this arrangement. Gradually this model spread to many countries.
Transaction will be not done with money but with time
Today, more than seven thousand people in India are associated with the time bank and now Kanpur has also become a part of this initiative. Mahesh Kumar of Kanpur, who is an active member of this experiment, says that it is exactly like a savings account. The only difference is that instead of money, hours are deposited in it.
In foreign countries, governments also support time banks and direct the members for service work. In Kanpur, it is currently being taken forward as a social initiative.
Registration will have to be done
Mahesh Kumar says that the process of this service starts with the website and app. First of all, you have to register yourself and e-KYC is done. After this you can take each other's service or time. For example, if someone is admitted in the hospital and he needs someone to serve him for two hours or more, then he can send his demand. Whoever agrees to this service
will have to serve. After the service is over, the number of hours he has served will be added to his account, which he can use for his service anytime. This facility is completely free. About 25 people have registered in Kanpur. Now as soon as the administrator is appointed, the service will start here too.
Bank employees and doctors also joined
Many retired bank employees and doctors have also joined this bank. They say that this initiative can prove to be a lifesaver for retired people and elderly people struggling with loneliness. This not only helps, but also strengthens the sense of mutual bonding and service in the society. To become a member, it is necessary to register, in which Aadhaar, PAN or other identity card has to be given. After this, the member's account is opened and the time starts getting recorded in it.
Summary
The special thing is that here every person's time has equal value. Kanpur's Time Bank is now preparing to gradually add more people. Its purpose is not only to provide service but also to spread the message in the society that the real wealth is time and every person's time is equally valuable.
