Tirupati stampede: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday said he will order a judicial probe into the stampede incident in Tirupati that killed six people and injured several others. He said three senior officials, including the district superintendent of police, have been transferred

Stampede incident in Tirupati that killed six people

A stampede broke out at Tirupati Balaji temple in Andhra Pradesh last Wednesday while taking tokens for darshan. Six devotees died in this stampede, while 35 were injured. However, the injured people have been admitted to different hospitals for treatment. At the same time, CM Chandrababu Naidu has now announced compensation for the injured and the families of the deceased.

While Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said, "The families of the deceased will be given a compensation of Rs 25 lakh and a contractual job. While the injured will be given a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each. Also, they will be allowed to have darshan tomorrow Friday. Though he also said that a judicial inquiry has been ordered into the incident to submit a detailed report.

Meanwhile Two officials - Goshala Director Arunadh Reddy and a policeman have been suspended. SP, AEO Gautami and another person are being transferred. Naidu said he has also ordered the suspension of two officials, including a DSP, for negligence. The chief minister said he found some lapses in the administration and monitoring system in Tirupati that should have been "absolutely corrected".

6 killed in stampede at temple

Six devotees were killed, and 35 others were injured in a stampede at Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Tirumala, also known as Tirupati Balaji, on Wednesday night. The stampede occurred when hundreds of devotees were trying to get tokens for Vaikuntha Dwara Darshanam.

Summary

The incident has been taken place at Bairagi Patteda near MGM School in the city. Earlier, CM Chandrababu Naidu visited the hospital where the injured are being treated.
